Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) Task Force presents BRE Awards at Mesquite Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards
The Mesquite Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Task Force presented five awards on Dec. 16 at the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Awards event. The BRE awards honored Mesquite businesses and community members. Below are the 2021 Award Winners:
The City of Mesquite Economic Development Department awarded Fritz Industries the Business Legacy Award. CEO Dan Montgomery accepted the award. Past recipients of this award include Dallas Regional Medical Center (2020), PepsiCo (2019), and J&R Manufacturing (2018).
The City of Mesquite Downtown Development office awarded Lisa Haar the Downtowner of the Year Award. Past recipients of this award include the Front Street Station Stakeholders Group (2020), Mesquite Barbecue (2019), and Corner Theatre (2018).
The City of Mesquite Convention & Visitors Bureau awarded Urban Air the Tourism Award. Owner Donny Carlton accepted the award. Past recipients of this award include Skip Parsotam (2020), Xcape Adventures (2019), and the Holiday Inn (2018).
Dallas College awarded Benjamin Moore the Manufacturer of the Year Award. Manufacturing Manager Eric Bowie accepted the award. Past recipients of this award include Orora Visual (2020), Morrison Products (2019), and PepsiCo (2018).
Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas awarded Revolution the Employer of the Year Award. Plant Manager Brandon Thompson accepted the award. Past recipients of this award include Elements International (2019) and Strukmyer Medical (2018).
Typically, Mesquite Independent School District presents an Intern Partner of the Year award. Due to COVID-19, there wasn't a partner in 2021. Past recipients of this award include Dr. Shawn Bosnell (2020), Jerry Junkins Head Start (2019), and Dallas Regional Medical Center (2018).
The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce gave out several awards, as well. They included the Business of the Year (Dallas College Eastfield Campus), Dr. Henrie (Lindsay Paris, MISD), Municipal Partner of the Year (City Manager Cliff Keheley, City of Mesquite), Board Chairman(s) of the Year (Elle Bradley, Vince Fallsarella, Susie Wurster), and Board Committee Chairman of the Year (Jennifer Salazar) awards.
The Business Retention & Expansion Task Force is a partnership of Mesquite’s core economic development stakeholder organizations, including the City of Mesquite, the Mesquite Independent School District, Dallas College, Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas and the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce.
